No more posts until the playoffs

Due to the lack of traffic on the site, I am no longer posting updates until just before the NBA Playoffs, when Drive to the Finals should return. I just don’t have enough time to make these posts with no return on investment (aka, I’m not making any money). Good luck the rest of the season!

Fastbreak Lineup for 11/14

My daily lineup for tomorrow (11/14) is below (assuming no injuries or major developments from tonight’s games):

G – Chris Paul
G – Rajon Rondo
F – Kevin Durant
F – LeBron James
C – Joakim Noah
HC – CHI

Comments: Paul and Rondo have been awesome so far and I see no reason for that not to continue–Paul always has big games against the Heat. KD and LBJ are the best two Fastbreak players in the league right now. I was tempted to go with Gasol, but he’s coming off his two worst games of the season and Noah is playing really well. The head coach position was hard to pick with MIA (at LAC) and OKC (vs. MEM) both having tough matchups. MIN (vs. CHA) and PHI (vs. DET) have the best matchups, but the Pistons have to win at some point and the TWolves have been ravaged by injuries (especially if Pekovic can’t play or is hobbled). I ultimately went with the Bulls because they almost always show up to play and the Suns just aren’t that good.

Other players to consider (alphabetized):
G – James Harden, Jrue Holiday, O.J. Mayo, Jeff Teague
F – Luol Deng, Andrei Kirilenko, Paul Millsap
C – Marc Gasol, Al Jefferson
HC – DAL, MIN, PHI

Fastbreak Lineup for 11/13

My daily lineup for tomorrow (11/13) is below (assuming no injuries or major developments from tonight’s games):

G – Kobe Bryant
G – Deron Williams
F – LaMarcus Aldridge
F – Nicolas Batum
C – Tim Duncan
HC – BKN

Comments: Kobe and Tim Duncan have been models of consistency in this young season. Deron Williams has a low Fastbreak average so far, but his poor outing against Miami is a big outlier. Expect a big game from him against a porous Cleveland defense. I chose two Blazers rather than Carmelo because I think they will have a good day against a Kings team minus the suspended DeMarcus Cousins. The head coach was probably the hardest choice for me, but I think Brooklyn should be able to take care of the Cavs at home. The Knicks have been excellent so far, but all that has to happen for them to lose is for Melo and/or J.R. Smith to have off shooting nights (which are distinct possibilities).

Other players to consider (alphabetized):
G – Bradley Beal, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker
F – Carmelo Anthony, Anderson Varejao
C – Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez
HC – NYK, POR

Fastbreak Weekly Lineups [11/12 - 11/18]

Here are my weekly lineups for this coming week:

No Salary
G – O.J. Mayo
G – Rajon Rondo
F – Kevin Durant
F – LeBron James
C – Al Jefferson
HC – OKC

Comments: Rondo has five games this week and all my other picks have four. I almost went with Noah, but I think Jefferson will have a slightly better week.

Other players to consider (alphabetical):
G – James Harden, Jrue Holiday, Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook
F - LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Pierce
C – Marc Gasol, Marcin Gortat, Dwight Howard, Joakim Noah
HC – BOS, MIA, PHI

Floating Cap
G – Damian Lillard (6.0)
G – Rajon Rondo (8.8) — Dropped Chris Paul (+$0.3)
F – Kevin Durant (10.3)
F – LeBron James (10.3)
C – Joakim Noah (9.1) — Dropped Marc Gasol (+$0.2)
HC – OKC (4.1)
Total: 48.6/50.5 (1.9 free)

Comments: I kept Lillard, Durant, and James, as they all have four games this week. I dropped Paul because he only has two games (compared with Rondo’s five). Gasol will probably have a good week, but Noah is cheaper and has four games. My salary cap rose +$0.5 with my two drops.

Bargain Bin (under 7.0):
G – Damian Lillard (6.3), E’Twaun Moore (6.9), A.J. Price (6.9)
F – Andre Drummond (6.1), Andrei Kirilenko (6.3)
C – Jonas Valanciunas (6.1)

Fastbreak Lineup for 11/12

My daily lineup for tomorrow (11/12) is below (assuming no injuries or major developments from tonight’s games):

G – Goran Dragic
G – Ty Lawson
F – Kevin Durant
F – LeBron James
C – Al Jefferson
HC – OKC

Comments: The Phoenix and Denver matchup has the potential to be a shootout and I think Dragic and Lawson will have big games. Durant and LeBron are easy picks. Al Jefferson is coming off a big game and I think he’ll have no problem dealing with Toronto’s frontcourt. OKC is playing arguably the worst team in the league, so they should be able to win the game.

Other players to consider (alphabetized):
G – O.J. Mayo, Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook
F – LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, Kenneth Faried, Serge Ibaka
C – Marcin Gortat, Greg Monroe, Joakim Noah
HC – DEN, MIA
